Looking After Your E-Cig & Vape Batteries

Looking After Your E-Cig & Vape Batteries

Vape Batteries

It’s important to make sure that you take care of your e cig and vape batteries. Doing so will not only help them to perform better, but will make them last longer. This means more time enjoying your vape and less money spent replacing parts or buying new devices.

Note: Please make sure that you also read our e cigarette battery safety guide before using any e-cig or vape products.

Clean the Battery Contacts Regularly

Cleaning the contacts is the best thing you can do to look after e cigarette batteries. Over time, small amounts of e liquid and debris from pockets or bags can collect in the screw part of the battery. You may notice that there’s a green coloured build up around the battery screw which is usually because debris has reacted with the battery.

We recommend regularly cleaning the contacts to help look after e cigarette batteries. We’ve found that a good way to get into the habit of this would is to give them a quick clean each time you put one on charge. This is turn will help to keep your charger clean and free of debris. We occasionally have batteries returned to us by customer’s because they’ve stopped working and the majority of the time we give them a good clean and they’re back up and running again.

To clean the battery contacts, simply take a screwed up piece of dry tissue paper or a cotton wool bud and thoroughly wipe both inside and outside the screw part of the battery.

Never use water to clean your e cigarette batteries.

Keep Batteries Out of Sunlight & Extreme Temperatures

As with any type of battery, exposure to extremes of temperature can be dangerous. When you’re not happily vaping away, make sure that you keep your vape batteries out of direct sunlight and don’t let them get too cold.

Mark Your Batteries So You Know When To Replace

Many of our customers use a sticker or a pen so that they can keep track of when a battery was purchased. We think this is a great idea as it means you’ll know when a battery is getting old and may need replacing.

Don’t Overcharge Your Batteries

Try not to keep your batteries plugged in after they are fully charged as this can cause deterioration.

You should never leave a charging battery unattended or plugged in for longer than necessary.

Store Your E-Cig Batteries Carefully

We would recommend keeping your e cigarette batteries in their supplied case (or even a small glasses-style case or zip wallet if you want to carry a few) when not in use to help keep them clean and safe.

Follow the above recommendations to look after cigarette batteries and you’ll find your batteries perform better and last longer. We also strongly recommend reading our guide to e cigarette battery safety.
